Closer Robotics Inc. (CEO: Shota Higuchi, Headquarters: Tsukuba, Ibaraki Prefecture), an AI robot development company, will hold a demonstration event for its small collaborative palletizing robot, "Palletizy™," at the Center of Garage (Sumida-ku, Tokyo, hereinafter "COG") from Monday, September 2rd to Tuesday, September 4th, 2024.

COG is an incubation facility designed for venture companies aiming to implement research outcomes into society. It connects researchers, local factories, and business companies domestically and internationally, contributing to the creation of businesses that can change the world. As a venture company, Closer Robotics is based at COG and is strengthening its collaboration by utilizing the facility to hold demonstration events, aiming for further business growth.

At the event, Closer Robotics will introduce the small collaborative palletizing robot "Palletizy™" and perform a demonstration. After the demonstration, participants will have the opportunity to operate the robot using their own transport items (such as cardboard boxes). This will provide a chance to observe the robot's movement and software capabilities.

■ What is Palletizy™?

Palletizy™ is a small collaborative palletizing robot that automates the task of stacking cardboard boxes. It features an "AutoLayout" function that automatically generates stacking layouts and tier configurations by simply inputting the sizes of the boxes and pallets.

■ Overview of the AutoLayout Function

Traditional palletizing robots required specialized technicians to perform teaching operations using a teaching pendant to set up the stacking pattern. However, with the new AutoLayout function, teaching operations are no longer necessary. Anyone can easily generate stacking layouts automatically from a user-friendly interface similar to that of a smartphone. By simply inputting the sizes of the cardboard boxes and pallets, multiple stacking layouts are automatically generated and recommended, making it easy to operate the robot.
