Closer has been selected for the 'FY 2019 Tsukuba Society 5.0 Social Implementation Trial Support Project' organized by Tsukuba City, Ibaraki Prefecture. We will be conducting demonstration experiments to build a social implementation model for food and beverage automation.
Tsukuba Society 5.0 Social Implementation Trial Support Project
Since FY 2017, Tsukuba City has been supporting trials (demonstration experiments) aimed at social implementation of Society 5.0, under the vision of becoming a 'city where the future of the world can be seen.' The city calls for innovative technologies and ideas to solve social issues and provides comprehensive support for excellent proposals. This year, in response to the significant impact of COVID-19 on daily life and the economy, trials focused on 'lifestyles with/after COVID-19' were sought.

Out of 21 proposals submitted nationwide, 9 advanced to the final review stage. To select trial projects for social implementation in Tsukuba City, an online voting was held on September 18 (Friday) at 8:30 AM, followed by a final review session by judges on September 25 (Friday) online.
Closer is developing a robotic arm optimized for food and beverage operations. We aim to develop and install a vending machine-type food service using this technology in Tsukuba City. By gathering feedback from everyone, we will conduct verification and improvements to achieve the social implementation of food and beverage automation.
